When news of Lil Wayne's pardon from Donald Trump came out, everyone thought back to the photo the two men took a couple months back.
People assumed the photo-op was part of the ploy in Wayne getting pardoned.
Lil Wayne's lawyer is speaking out saying that is not the case.
Wayne's lawyer told the New York Times it was never Wayne's intention to get pardoned but he recognizes the meeting put Wayne in Trump's good graces.
"It never hurts that someone gets a full understanding of an individual when they're just looking at a piece of paper. In hindsight I guess it worked."
